SUA Holdings Ltd (“SUA”) holds six exploration areas in Sweden. The projects are Björklund nr 1 and 2, Björkråmyran nr 3, Kvarnån nr 5, Nöjdfjället nr 1, and Skuppesavon nr 2 for 16,138 hectares.
SUA was formed under the terms of a Scheme of Arrangement between Southern Cross Gold Ltd and Mawson Gold Ltd to form Southern Cross Gold Consolidated Ltd (TSX: SXGC, ASX: SX2, OTCQX: SXGCF).
On January 10, 2025, Mawson completed the spin-out of the uranium assets held by its then wholly-owned subsidiary SUA Holdings Limited ("SUA") under the Business Corporations Act (British Columbia). As part of this Scheme, shareholders of Mawson Gold received shares in SUA as an attached free right to their holdings. Currently, SUA Holdings Limited remains a public unlisted company.
The viability of the Swedish uranium assets has been dependent on regulatory changes in Sweden. Two key changes are required for the Company to continue:
1. Change to the Swedish Mining Act to add Uranium — COMPLETED. On November 5, 2025, the Swedish Parliament voted to repeal the 2018 moratorium on uranium mining, effective January 1, 2026. Uranium is now classified as a "concession mineral" under Sweden's Minerals Act.
2. Change in Municipal Veto — The Swedish Government has proposed reclassifying uranium mining from a "nuclear technical facility" to a "nuclear technical activity," which would remove the municipal veto requirement. Consultation concluded December 3, 2025, with a parliamentary vote expected in the first half of 2026.
If both regulatory changes are implemented, the directors of SUA will likely pursue an IPO.
